Frequently Asked Questions
Product & Shopping
What materials are Sangreman tools made from?
All Sangreman barware is crafted from premium 304 stainless steel—the industry standard for durability and safety. Available raw for the realists, or with decorative coatings for the peacocks (black, copper, gold, silver). If in doubt, go 304 stainless for heavy use; coatings look chic but wear if abused.
Are all sets in stock?
Like most things worth having, our best sets tend to sell out. Want a pink-and-copper finish? Move fast, or prepare for a wait that'll make a Negroni seem like instant gratification.
How do I pay?
Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, and all the EU-friendly classics. Bitcoin not accepted (yet—ask again after happy hour).
What's the guarantee?
We're building toward lifetime/multi-year warranties on core tools. If a coating peels or a part misbehaves, clear no-quibble replacements are the aim. Watch this space—quality is a process, not just a promise.
What about returns?
Damp bar towel in hand, we won't quibble about returns on faulty items or buyer's remorse—as long as it's within the sensible window and the tool isn't garnished with regret.
Tools & Maintenance
Gold or steel—which lasts longer?
Gold and other coated finishes are for display or light mixing. Hardcore home bartender? 304 stainless is the long-term MVP—resists tarnish, outlives your willpower, and won't judge your technique.
Can I put my tools in the dishwasher?
If you like roulette, go ahead. For everyone else: hand wash and dry to preserve that premium finish. Coated tools, especially, need a gentle touch if you like them pretty.
Why do some tools look different from batch to batch?
Like a bartender after two shifts—small variations are the sign of a handcrafted approach, not a robot apocalypse.
Cocktail FAQs
Help! I'm missing an ingredient. What can I substitute?
If you can't find Chartreuse for an Alaska, try Strega or another herbal liqueur—you'll get a different 'set fire to the herb garden' vibe, but that's cocktailing.
My Martini is too cloudy or too strong—what went wrong?
Cloudiness usually means over-shaking. Too strong? Cut the booze, embrace vermouth, and remember: the Martini is not a personality test.
What's your most asked-for classic recipe?
The Old Fashioned: bourbon, sugar, bitters. If you can't make this, perhaps just drink wine. Or try a Negroni if you want to impress someone moody and European.
Can I use cheap gin in a Martini?
You can, but be prepared for existential dread and cocktail purists to sigh audibly. Go mid-shelf—you deserve better, and so do your taste buds.
Shaker Styles: Boston vs Cobbler vs Parisian
Because not all shakers are created equal—or forgiving.
• Boston shaker: Two-piece setup (usually tin + glass or tin + tin). Fast, efficient, and the preferred weapon of professional bartenders who value speed and control. No built-in strainer, so you'll need a Hawthorne or julep strainer on hand. It's bare-bones brilliance—if you know what you're doing.
• Cobbler shaker: The three-piece classic (tin body, built-in strainer, and a cap). Perfect for home bartenders or anyone who values convenience over swagger. Warning: the cap can jam when cold, which is why pros roll their eyes at it. Still, it's hard to beat for hassle-free cocktails at home.
• Parisian shaker: Two pieces like the Boston, but both parts are usually metal (tin + tin), giving it a sleek, elegant look. No built-in strainer, rarely jams, and beloved in chic cocktail bars across Europe. Think of it as the Boston's sophisticated cousin who studied abroad and came back annoyingly well-dressed.

It's not personal. It's tradition. The only thing that should be bland is your ice.
